I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but there’s a LOT of information about personal finance out there. Like a lot, lot, lot. The primary reason I decided to do the blog was to help readers like you digest what’s important and be able to take real action to get/keep you on the road to wealth and financial independence. On my journey, I’ve read and continue to read books that educate and inspire. I want to share with you some of the books I recommend and why I’m recommending them. Full disclosure, I’m saying “read”, but I listened to all of these on Audible. If you don’t have an Audible membership, you can click here for a free 30 day trial. If you’re a Prime member, you also get 2 free books!
Let Go by Pat Flynn
The 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss
Tim Ferriss is a legend in the FI (Financial Independence) community. His book, The 4-Hour Workweek, will make you rethink the traditional concepts of 9 to 5 employment and help you identify what you find truly valuable in life. Definitely worth a read.
I Will Teach You to Be Rich by Ramit Sethi
Ramit himself will be the first one to tell you that the title sounds a little gimmicky, but trust me, the content is anything but. In this book, Ramit gives you practical, actionable steps for building wealth. This is one of those books worth revisiting every year or two to help stay on track.
Rework by Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson
This one is less personal finance and more motivational. If you’ve ever dreamt of starting your own business or even just starting a project, this book will give you that kick in the pants to make it happen. In short, it says stop stalling yourself waiting for things to be perfect. Just do something NOW and then iterate.
Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker
This book speaks to the psychology of wealth and confirms there is a such thing as a poverty mindset. Now one disclaimer about this book. It may be easy to read this and dismiss some of the content because there’s obviously a lot more to becoming wealthy than just thinking about it. However, your mind is powerful and your thinking can subconsciously drive your actions. In short, if you want to do better, you have to start by thinking better.
Bonus: Not a book, but The Morning Brew is a great daily financial newsletter. I read it every day to get a quick pulse of what’s going on in the financial world. They use a comedic, upbeat writing style to keep it light and throw in some other random info to keep it interesting.
Full disclosure, as an Amazon Associate I earn a commission from purchases from the links above. This doesn’t cost you anything and it’s actually a topic for another article…Starting a Blog.
